Tips to Plan for an Individual’s Performing Auditions
One thing to do is to enjoy if you know you are skilled, that you have something to present. Congratulate yourself for landing a chance to acting auditions. It is now time to focus on your advantages, to find a way to reduce the pressure in your life. Do not over think. Rather, focus on the scenario, the speech and picture a successful performance.
After that, spend some time to prepare as soon as it can be. Keep in mind that acting auditions should be given serious attention. Enthusiasm, interest and hard work is what makes a difference.
If there are casting calls, try to read the format, the venue and the other significant details that you have to identify so that you can arrange well. You have to know what they are seeking to get from the audition.
Here are some concerns that you need to ask:
1. Are you doing the auditions on your own or as a part of the act? In this way you can start participating with other individuals that you may develop relationship as soon as possible. This is one way to correct the errors before starting your acting auditions.
2. How many minutes are you allowed performing? Will you be performing a few appearing monologues? That way, you can look at the time of performance and be able to deliver much needed effect in just a few seconds if you have limited time.
3. Find out there would be a script presented or if it would be a cold reading, keeping the script in your hands or with the idea of the concept would be a big help for your character reference. This is one way to be precise.
4. Who will be observing? You have to know this in order to be able to acknowledge the judges, their talents and to be able to give the important respect that each needs.
5. Be prepared to memorize a given script or personal script. Being able to memorize your part gives you more self esteem and stability.
6. If you may be asked to create your own monologue, be as creative as you can. Let others do a critic on your monologue. Have buddies over to observe and read your speech. Practice with other characters who can provide helpful criticism. Family members are usually not the best judge for talent because they have the disposition to get biased especially with parents. It is advisable to get harder but realistic comments from the professionals.
